We have released new versions of our core crypto and SSL/TLS libraries:
IAIK-JCE 5.1
iSaSiLk 4.5
We have released the new IAIK PKCS#11 Provider version 1.4 and the new IAIK PKCS#11 Wrapper version 1.3. These versions now use UTF8 encoding for character array attributes and furthermore include some fixes and enhancement for improved usability.
The “Institute for Applied Information Processing and Communication” (IAIK) of the Graz University of Technology has established the “Stiftung Secure Information and Communication Technologies” (SIC) to encourage independent scientific research, development as well as teaching and knowledge transfer in the fields of applied information processing, communication and information security. Stiftung SIC is also responsible for continued development, support and sales of the Crypto Toolkits for the Java ™ platform that were originally developed by IAIK.
Development - Crypto Toolkits for the
Java™ platform
Cryptography for the Java™ platform is one of the core activities at IAIK/SIC. Already in 1997 we have released the intial versions of IAIK-JCE and iSaSiLk as two of the first crypto libraries for the Java™ platform that have ever been available. Since then we have continuously maintained, enhanced and extended our crypto toolkit suite for the Java™ platform. Today IAIK/SIC crypto software is an important part of many cryptographic applications and projects all around the world.
Our crypto libraries are free of charge for educational and research purposes. For our customers we offer a comprehensive support program guaranteeing fast response times. Being provided by the software authors themselves, we can provide you with the most competent help possible.
Research And Teaching
In addition to software development, Stiftung SIC is also actively engaged in research and has very close relationship to IAIK. SIC and IAIK even share the infrastructure. As a University Institute, IAIK is very active in technology observation and research in the field of information security and cryptography. IAIK`s crypto research group has been led by AES co-author Vincent Rijmen who also has been one of our teachers for cryptography here at the University. This guarantees a solid theoretical foundation for our practical work.
We have also participated in many security- and PKI related research projects, and have taken part in European and world wide PKI and security standardisation activities. IAIK/SIC also is one of the key players in the Austrian eGovernment scene.
Main Activities
Our projects mainly focus on:
• Security aspects of the information society (in particular e-Commerce and e-Government)
• Cryptography and Crypto analysis
• Security and Cryptography for the Java™ platform
• HW and SW implementations of cryptographic methods and protocols
• PKI and electronic signatures
• Network security
• Contributions to standardization processes in the fields specified above
