[iaik-ssl] EOFException: SSL host closed connection

hello.

we're connection to a Netscape-Enterprise/3.6 SP2 via
iaik-ssl which works in 99,99% perfectly fine.

but exactly ONE client has the following problem
connection to the server:

InputRecord locked.
OutputRecord locked.
starting handshake.
send client_hello...
SSLConnection EOFException java.io.EOFException: SSL host closed connection.
SSLConnection EOFException java.io.EOFException: SSL host closed connection.
java.io.EOFException: SSL host closed connection.

the system is:
Windows NT 4.0 SP 3
SUN JDK 1.2.2_005

details of the problem:
the test-programm (from which the above lines are copied)
works in roundabout 30% of all call perfectly fine, but just 2 minutes
later (which is then 70% of the calls :-(
this error occures again.

has anybody any idea where to start the search ?

(a quite huge variety of different machines with WinNT and 1.2.x jdk
 works perfectly fine)

-> the server itself seems to be ok
-> the machine & jdk a fine too (?)
-> some firewall (client-side) inbetween (?)
-> what else could cause this ?

or (to iaik)
what (in detail) does this exception mean ?
